We arrived in Colorado Springs on Tuesday night and we spent all day Wednesday with relatives. Our first activity on Wednesday was the Garden of the gods. It was super cool and the sights were incredible. Zach and I had a great time driving around in his cousin Johns convertible. John was a wonderful host and tour guide!
We were able to drive by Glen Eyrie castle which was pretty sweet!
check out the creeper in the mirror…totally photo bombing my picture!
I don’t know if you can tell but on the right hand side on the mountain is an eagles nest.
After Garden of the gods we went and had lunch with another cousin (Katie) and her sweet family. The lunch was super delicious…Zach and I were in awe the entire time and definitely had more than we needed. Turns out, the lunch she made was one of her recipes from her business Ready, Set, Suppers. If your in the Colorado Springs area and want to learn/prepare delicious crock pot meals than check out her website and Facebook below!
After lunch we headed over to The Wild Goose. The name sounds strange but the place was beyond cool. Two of their walls were garage doors that they opened up when it was nice outside. We went there to just hang out and play games…which by the way Zach and I found 2 new games that we love called Pandemic and Sneaks & Snitches.
Later in the evening after dinner we went to Manitou Springs to get icecream and play arcade games. I have never been anywhere like this place. It was like a permanent carnival with different buildings full of old games. Zach and I had an absolute blast.
We had the BEST time in Colorado Springs and it was so great to spend time with family! I am so thankful our route to CA took us through Colorado and we were able to stop there. It really was a wonderful pick me up after the heavy goodbye of leaving behind our town, family & friends.
I hope you enjoyed post 2 of our journey 🙂
